Heliskiing is more limited in the Alps than in the North of Europe. Landing zones and skiing areas are restricted. Still the downhills are very long, sometimes with over 2000 m elevation. That is why we make a maximum of two flights a day. The cost of one flight is around 700 to 1000 euros, and we split it among the participants of the trip. Helicopter can take 4 people with a guide. We cooperate with the best mountain pilots, who have been flying the Bell and Eurocopter helicopters. In the area of Mt Blanc you can fly in Italy and Switzerland. France did not allow the heliskiing over their parts of mountains. The heliport in the Mt Blanc massif is located in Courmayeur. Other flights are held in Zermatt to Monte Rosa and in Verbier to Grand Combin and Pigne d’Arolla.
In the second part of the season I recommend a heliskiing trip to Lyngen Alps in Sweden, Island and Greenland. I have chosen those places because of their spectacular terrain, snow and season of the year. Heliskiing is available there with a few flights a day. It is easier to get to the North of Europe than to Canada, you will also avoid time zones and a trouble of jet lag. And the skiing and flying area is unlimited just as in Northern America.
In High Alps I practice heliskiing from january to the end of March, and in Sweden, Island or Greenland from the end of April to June.
When:
January-March in Alps
April-June in Sweden, Island, Greenland
Number of participants: 2-4
